Expanding spray foam seems to work pretty well to seal cracks at the bottom of homes. The skunks never mess with it and find other places to dig. Mothballs didn't work at all, they just moved them out of the way. I'm going to try citrus spray next. I've got a skunk that's huge, maybe the size of a rat terrier dog. It comes by my home every night but is slowly getting to the point of not going under my home

It is now the 9th of May and possibly a mother skunk has had her babies under my deck..it appears that is the case as I smell him/her every night and morning. It was extremely strong the other night when two racoons raided my metal pail with bird seed. Should I wait to try an evict the skunk?

My neighbors have a shed on their property and skunks return there every year (this is year 8!). We do not know if one of the babies returns with her new family, but it happens every year. They have tried everything to keep them out from under the shed. (They have tried castor oil, other scents and oils, cement under the shed, flooding under the shed, tiles under the shed, etc..... not to kill them of course but to block the entrance. ) We have a small pond with a running fountain, so of course, this means the skunks are always coming into my yard at night. We have had up to 5 skunks at a time in the yard (including the momma). We have cats and are so afraid they will get sprayed. We have tried so many things. How do you stop them from returning every year? Our yards are clean. No trash. No wood piles. Help! When the males come through, they spray everywhere to mark their territory (we assume?) and it is horrible. We live in town, not the middle of the woods!
